Arthritis and Joint Problems

Arthritis causes inflammation, pain and deformity in the feet and can make mobility very difficult. Foot deformity can put joints and the soles of the foot under more pressure, causing corns and calluses and occasionally ulcers. Common foot deformities include hammer toes and bunions.

How we can help

We have various treatment options to keep your feet pain free and keep you mobile. Deformed toes can be padded or devices supplied, to protect them. Curacorn® is a great long term for relieving deep, painful corns. Arthritic joints respond well to steroid or hyaluronic acid (Ostenil®) injections, which we can administer under ultrasound guidance. Customised orthoses may be required to improved foot alignment and optimise the function of the foot.
