Nail Surgery
Nail surgery is a permanent solution for ingrowing, thickened or damaged toenails. The procedure is typically performed under local anaesthetic and involves removing part or all of the affected nail.
How we can help
We will carry out a full assessment and discuss whether surgery is appropriate. During the procedure, the nail is removed and the nail bed treated with a chemical (usually phenol) to destroy the nail matrix, to prevent regrowth of the nail. The toe is dressed and checked at regular intervals during the healing process.
