What Is Onyfix®?

Onyfix® is a Class 1 medical device designed to correct nail abnormalities by retraining the nail to grow straight. The process is simple yet effective:

• A composite resin is applied to the widest part of the nail and set using a blue LED light.
• This creates a strong, durable bond that encourages natural, healthy nail growth.

Unlike traditional nail bracing, Onyfix® is a painless, tidy, and non-invasive alternative. It is suitable for a wide range of patients, including those with diabetes, needle phobia, or other high-risk factors.

Conditions Onyfix® Can Address

Onyfix® is effective for managing:

• Involuted or Curved Nails: Encourages a straighter growth pattern.
• Ingrown Toenails: Provides immediate relief when used with a half-band and packing.
• Post-Trauma Nail Recovery: Supports healthy regrowth after injury.
• Split or Fragile Nails: Stabilises and protects damaged nails.

Onyfix® is compatible with lacquers and nail polish (excluding gel polish) and does not limit your activities.

What to Expect During Treatment

The Onyfix® process is straightforward and minimally invasive:

1. Preparation: Your podiatrist will prep and file the nail to ensure proper bonding.
2. Application: A composite resin strip (2mm thick) is applied to the nail and cured with LED light.
3. Follow-Up: The resin is reapplied approximately every 8 weeks as the nail grows out.

The full correction process typically takes 6–12 months, with most patients requiring around four applications.
